I am the son of Jewish parents who migrated from Europe to Brooklyn. Along with my fellow researcher, I received the Nobel Prize in Medicine in 1976 for the treatment of the kuru disease, making me the discoverer of Hepatitis-B virus and the vaccine curing it.
