I was born in Transylvania, was a composer and folk song collector, emigrated after 1956, lived in Vienna, Stockholm, the US and Hamburg. On my father’s side, I am a descendant of the world-famous violinist and music teacher Lipót Auer, and my second cousin is Hungarian philosopher Ágnes Heller.
