I’m a Russian writer, and my most famous work is Daniel Stein, Interpreter, a novel spanning half a century. The book focuses on questions of love, faith and religion and attempts to bridge the Jewish-Christian “gap”. My Jewish parents did not practise their religion, and I am not religious myself, but as an independent intellectual I feel deeply about the Jewish fate.
