I was born by the name of Frigyes Kornfeld to a well-to-do family of doctors in Nagykálló. We opened the Internal Medicine Clinic in 1880, where we established the “Korányi School”. I was instrumental in organising a modern sanatorium which was opened in 1901, by the name of Queen Elizabeth (after Sisi, the wife of Kaiser Franz Joseph I).
