Back in the 1930s, I had several patents for computing operations with signal conditioning circuits in telephone exchanges, for which I received the IEEE Computer Pioneer Award. As head of department at Budapest Technical University in 1955-57, I designed the country’s first program-controlled electromechanical computer (MESZ-1)
